csvclean is built with privacy at its core. All CSV processing happens entirely in your browser. We never see, store, or have access to your data. This isn't just a policy—it's how our technology works.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Account credentials (securely hashed)
  • Subscription status and billing information

1.2 Your CSV Files

We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your CSV files. All file processing happens entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device. We physically cannot access your files—this is by design.

1.3 Usage Information

We may collect anonymized usage data to improve our service:

  • Pages visited and features used
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • General geographic location (country/region level only)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain csvclean services
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions

3. Data Processing and Storage

3.1 Client-Side Processing

All CSV file processing occurs in your browser using JavaScript. When you upload a file:

  • The file is read directly in your browser's memory
  • Processing operations are performed locally on your device
  • Results are displayed to you in the browser
  • You download the cleaned file directly from your browser
  • All data is cleared from memory when you close the page

3.2 Server-Side Storage

We store on our servers:

  • Your account information (email, password hash, subscription status)
  • Anonymized usage analytics
  • Payment transaction records (through Stripe)

We do NOT store:

  • Your CSV files
  • The contents of your data
  • Processing results
  • Any file metadata or information about your data

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

4.1 Payment Processing

We use Stripe for payment processing. When you subscribe to Pro, Stripe collects and processes your payment information according to their privacy policy. We never see or store your full credit card details.

4.2 No Data Sales

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We will never sell your data.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • HTTPS encryption for all connections
  • Secure authentication using better-auth
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Limited access to user data within our organization

Your CSV data is processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded to our servers. We built csvclean this way specifically to protect your privacy. We cannot access your data because it never reaches us.
